It was very interesting listening to our NFU president Minette Batters speech at the Dorset NFU AGM. She spoke so informatively on everything that is at the heart of British agriculture and all the hot topics that are affecting us farmers.
What a joy to seeing a Dorset Lad on the finals of Master Chef

Well I don’t know about you but I was so proud of being a Dorset girl, watching a Dorset boy in the finals of Master Chef: The Professionals. Charlie Jeffreys was a runner up, what a great achievement! Seeing him showcasing wonderful crab and lobster from our shores and lots more loveliness from his Dorset upbringing, he was so proud of his roots. This was why Love Local Trust Local was founded in 2018 to help tell the wonderful stories of local businesses, new ones as well as old ones, right here in Dorset. November and December have been busy months for the sponsors and judges, as they have been out visiting the LLTL 2022 awards entries and hearing first-hand the journeys of these businesses.

September and October weather gave all of us in hospitality an extended late summer and autumn with customers enjoying eating, drinking, and relaxing outdoors. This was great and we were all very busy in the restaurant and pub trade. However, now, the damp and cold days with long dark nights have arrived. Hopefully, people will still celebrate Christmas and the New Year, but we are all worried about what will happen in January, February, and March.
We in hospitality play a major role in the economy. Never before has it been so important to highlight how fragile our industry is as right now

Unmanageable energy costs, soaring inflation, I don’t know if we will be able to weather the coming months if it gets much harder. The hospitality industry is unique, our British pubs are at the heart of their local towns & communities. I think the true value of this is greatly undervalued.
